Are you referring to collectivist as opposed to those other nasty people in that other tribe? -

Re: Show of hands?
Sat, March 3, 2007 - 7:11 PMI dont really have a problem with traditional individualists.
"anarcho-capitalism" is an oxymoron however, like the term "Anarcho-Landlordism". They reject the state, but only because they see the state as competition for their own authoritarian ambitions.

Re: Show of hands?
Sat, March 3, 2007 - 10:57 PMMe, I think I'm an anti-authoritarian communist. I'll know better after I read the Communist Manifesto and Das Kapital. (And I know, shame on me for speaking up so much in that other tribe before having completed this required reading.) -

Re: Show of hands?
Tue, March 6, 2007 - 6:59 AMum...i think we need more than 14 different kinds of anarchists to diversify the thought and keep us in discussion about what specifically anarchy means until the system itself keeps going on for years and change never happens. -

Re: Show of hands?
Tue, March 6, 2007 - 9:30 AMI agree Chris.
I have great appreciation for all the different perspectives and platforms of Anarchist thought. We need diversity, and each community should be autonomous and organized by the principles most agreeable to that local populace, or else to the individual should they choose to live apart from any community.
Anarcho-Capitalism however is different in that it is an Authoritarian system antithetical to Anarchism in most regards. They are Anarchists only as far as the state is concerned, so in theory they would be allies against the government, but they support Authoritarian relationships in backing the privilege of the rich and the power of the corporations and support a new form of Landlordism that puts the wealthy in a position of power over their communities, where property owners take over the roles that the government would play rather then abolishing hierarchy, bosses, wage slavery, and Landlordism.
I am all for diversity among anarchists and other anti-authoritarian socialists, primitivists, and other such radicals, but there are some philosophies which simply are not compatable, such as Authoritarian Communists and Anarcho-Capitalists.
